Microneedling

Microneedling

Automated micro needling , also referred to as PCIT (Percutaneous Collagen Induction Treatment), is a method of introducing a controlled wound into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen & elastin. PCIT also creates superficial micro-channels, which allow topical serums and cream to be absorbed more efficiently into the skin. There is no heat used during PCIT treatments. Prior to the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the skin. Once prepped, a sterile needle-tip containing 12 to 36 tiny micro needles is attached to the collagen pin. The depth of the micro needles is less that 3mm in most cases. In a single motion, the collagen pin will gently glide across the skin until the entire treatment area is covered. There is no down time and the slight redness of the skin fades after several minutes. A series of 3 sessions is recommended, but results can be seen in as little as 3 days after your first treatment. Microneedling can be used to correct uneven skin tones, smooth facial scars, as well as produce some skin tightening.
